CORRECTIONS DIVISION:

The Corrections Division maintains a full service jail with a bed capacity for 110 inmates (16 female and 94 male), plus holding and medical. This division provides the incarceration, classification, educational programs, religious services, as well as medical and food service for the inmates. During the year 2004, this division, processed 2,227 inmates. These inmates included sentenced, pre-trial, and out-of-county, including Federal holds. As a result of housing out-of-county and federal inmates, Pickaway County received $130,295.00 in revenue, which was placed in the General Fund. This revenue helps offset the expense involved in the operation of the Corrections Division. During the year 2004, 114,735 meals were served at a cost of $1.47 per meal. Of the 2,227 inmates, 157 were on special diets (e.g., religious or medical ordered.) There were 279 Jail Incident Reports written as a result of Incidents which occurred within the facility.The contracted Jail Physician and Dentist saw 586 Inmates during the year. During the year a total of 140 inmates requested the use of Law Books and Legal Material for their cases.

The Corrections Division is also responsible for Court Security and Transportation of Inmates. The Corrections Division has an officer assigned to the Court House for Security of the courts. This officer also assists with the movement of inmates within the Court House. The Corrections Division has an officer assigned who is responsible for the transportation of inmates (e.g., courts, penal institutions, other jails, medical/mental evaluations).

Sex Offender Registration for Pickaway County is conducted by the Corrections Division. Under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Law, it is the responsibility of the Sheriff to maintain records pertaining to the registration of all Sex Offenders and to make community notification to the public when a Sexual Predator resides within Pickaway County. The Corrections Division currently has 40 Sex Offenders registered. Of the 40 registered, three offenders are Sexual Predators, subject to community notification.

LT. LARRY M. MOSLEY:
Lt. Mosley started serving in 1992, he is currently the Jail Administrator for the Pickaway County Jail. He manages the jail as a “not so small” business, and reports directly to Sheriff Radcliff. Lt. Mosley has completed courses of basic correctional officer, basic police training, and most recently jail administration courses.
