Winter Storm Warning for Pickaway, OH for 02/04/2014

… WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 10 AM EST WEDNESDAY…

* HAZARD TYPES… HEAVY SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS.

* ACCUMULATIONS… SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 8 INCHES. THERE COULD BE SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A QUARTER INCH IN SOUTHERN OHIO. A SLIGHT CHANGE IN STORM TRACK COULD PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES IN THESE ACCUMULATIONS OVER A SMALL AREA.

* TIMING… SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA EARLY THIS EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT. DURING THE LATE EVENING… WARMER AIR ALOFT WILL CHANGE SNOW TO FREEZING RAIN AT TIMES. A FINAL CHANGEOVER TO ALL SNOW WILL OCCUR OVERNIGHT. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF WEDNESDAY MORNING… BUT GUSTY NORTH WINDS MAY RESULT IN AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW ON WEDNESDAY.

* IMPACTS… HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS.

* WINDS… NORTHEAST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH.

REMEMBER… A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW… SLEET… AND ICE ARE EXPECTED. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
