… WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING…

A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING.

OCCASIONAL LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS AFTERNOON. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL GENERALLY BE AN INCH OR LESS. HOWEVER… WEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO BELOW A HALF MILE AT TIMES THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL… KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT… FOOD… AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

.LOW PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE AND ALOFT WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE EAST AND AWAY FROM THE OHIO VALLEY TODAY. LINGERING AREAS OF LIGHT SNOW WILL PERSIST THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL GENERALLY BE AN INCH OR LESS. HOWEVER… WEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS.
