Weather System:

The Sheriff of a county may declare a snow emergency and temporarily close county and township roads within his jurisdiction for the preservation of public peace. The snow emergency will be classified in one of four levels below. (The current level, if any, will be “POSTED” on our main page).

This is a realtime meter that will change when snow emergency levels occur. Along with the alert system comes with a local weather alert detail that can be view by clicking the link below the monitor.

No Level:

UNDER NO LEVEL: Roadways Are In Safe Driving Conditions.

Icy Conditions:

UNDER ICE ALERT: Roadways Are Covered In Ice. Recommended No One Should Be On The Road.

Level 1 Snow Emergency:

LEVEL 1: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow.  Roads are icy. Drive very cautious

Level 2 Snow Emergency:

LEVEL 2: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways.  Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.

Level 3 Snow Emergency:

LEVEL 3: All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel.  All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work.  Those traveling on the roadways may subject themselves to arrest.
